Shift, by Em Bailey

Shift, by Em Bailey.

This is a gripping read. Olive Corbett is recovering from “an incident”. As well she has had a major bust up at school and her ex-best friend, Katie still rules the roost. Olive’s only friend now, is Ami. When new girl, Miranda, arrives at the school complete with spooky story of how she killed her parents, Olive and Ami realise there is definitely something strange about her. Katie welcomes Miranda into the cool kids group but the more Miranda begins to fit in, the more Katie seems to fade away.

Olive is a teenage girl fighting her own demons. She is feeling guilty about her parents’ separation and she feels like she no longer fits in at school. After her ‘incident’ she remains on medication and under the supervision of a psychiatrist. Why would anyone believe her when she accused Miranda of being a shape shifter.

A story of friendship, love and trust with a thrilling finale.
